Dr Kate Pressland

Manager of CEIA

Kate leads the management and core delivery work of CEIA. She specialises in farmer-centred innovation and engaging producers in R&D, and has extensive experience in programme design and evaluation.

 

Kate is currently working closely with the Innovation and R&D Team at Defra and Innovate UK on the development of the Farming Innovation Programme, and is on Defra's Farming Innovation Programme Expert Panel. She leads the Secretariat provided by CEIA for the Agricultural Universities Council. She advises on the Sustainable Farm Networks steering group (at Harper Adams University), and is the current Chair of the Farmer-Led Innovation Network (flin.org.uk).

 

Kate previously led the Innovative Farmers programme, overseeing its development and advocacy to funders and policymakers. She has 20 years experience working with farmers and growers and a PhD in agricultural ecology.
